Surah Garter is a spirit walker. To the government, she is a ‘remote-viewer’, some-one who can leave their body and secretly observe other people at a distance. She spends her days with her fellow remote-viewers quietly working for a department that specialises in looking for lost children and murder victims, or carrying out surveillance missions for the police and other interested parties. 

 

But Surah has not been entirely honest with her employers, and her abilities are far greater than she has ever revealed to her co-workers. Too afraid to reveal her true skills, she has to balance her need for secrecy with the knowledge that she has uncovered outside agents working within the Department who are trying to use it for their own ends. It is not long before she finds herself in a fight to stay in control of her own life from those who have very different uses for her skills.
